One star as I won't be completing the series. IF ALL the books in this series were packaged as a set (& priced reasonably), I would have purchased the set. Usually enjoy Parker's tales, this malarkey of "hooking" one of her reader's by giving us book 1 as a freebie at the end of "Blindfold" the series, though, then overcharging---in total---for books 2 through 4 (or more)? Nope! Not for this old lady. Sorry for sounding like a curmudgeon, but it just isn't the right way to treat your readers (IMO). I'll never learn what happened between DeVon & Krissy---that's fine! Just an aside comment: Treating your customer base badly, may produce a declining customer base.Product details

Enjoyable book, downloaded for free on and captivated me with its story. I liked the idea of the strong career woman taking charge of her life and meeting this hot as hell businessman who needed a change.
Now, I don't normally read this kind of novel, so there's a few flaws. Alphas? Overdone a touch, but with this guy it kind of works. While I wondered constantly why any woman would submit herself to the type of degradation and abuse he heaped on them, I accepted it because they willingly allowed it without coercion. Their choice, their bodies, so whatever! He's such a jerk that I wondered how he even kept employees (there's a reason behind that, so I understood why later thanks to hanging with the series. For a first book, it pulled me right on in and I'm glad I took the time to read it.
The sex scenes are steamy, slightly over the top but semi-realistic. Overall, good writing and intriguing story.
I haven't read anything from M.S. Parker before but I've heard good things. I was looking for something quick, unconventional and steamy so after reading the synopsis on this one I decided to give it a shot. This book wasn't quite what I was expecting but it kept me captivated.
Chasing Perfection follows the story of Krissy and DeVon. I enjoyed the dual POV. It was fun seeing how similar both characters were. Both characters go after what they want and usually get it. That is until they meet one another. It took me quite a while to warm up to them both. I admired Krissy's grit and determination. She wasn't going to let anyone stand in her way especially her broody boss. I loved how they kept trying to one up the other. Their antics and banter were both frustrating and funny. They were both so hard headed that I knew that when it hit the fan it was gonna be messy. Just when Krissy thinks she has gotten one over on DeVon he went and pulled his trump card. And that is where this installment of the series ends. I'm intrigued enough to give the next part of this serial a shot.
Ok, I will admit, I bought this book because I had enjoyed Ms. Parker's series Club Prive'. I bought it, and it sat on my kindle for a good 2-3 weeks. Then I finished another book & was looking through my kindle for a new book to start since I did not have WiFi where I was to buy any other books...damn was I kicking myself in the you know what for not reading this book sooner!! It was awesome. It was HOT, it was funny, It was SEXY. I think DeVon gives Christian Grey a huge run for his money. My only complaints, which is common cause I never want the stories I love to end, is that I wish it was longer & that part 3 was not ready to buy. I read part 1, immediately bought & read part 2 in a matter of 3 hours! Could not get enough. If you want a hot, sexy, tension filled story, 1 click this baby!!!
We first meet DeVon Ricci as he is breaking up with his girlfriend. Sami had been one of the most contentious and not always in an enjoyable way. DeVon only did two weeks maybe four. Krissy is very disorganized person. while her friend Carrie was overly organized. Krissy had a job interview at Mirage Talent that she filled out an application for 3 months ago and they want her to fly in for an interview. What Krissy didn't know was that DeVon watched her in her interview and that he set up tests for her to pass. When she went to the hotel where she was staying she found out that she has been upgraded. When she got into her room DeVon Ricci was their with a group of women. Taylor took Krissy to the beach to watch the sun set. Taylor wants to be with Krissy but she tells him that he is a potential client for Mirage and that she is taking this job opportunity very seriously. I loved this book and this is my first book by M.S. Parker and it most definitely will not be my last. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!

Let me start at the end and say I literally laughed out loud when I read the ending of this book. While this is not my first serial, it is my first book by M.S. Parker and I have to say that so far I am impressed. Both DeVon and Krissy’s characters are so well written that they feel like real people. Krissy’s reaction to finding out about all of the “tests” DeVon subjected her to was perfect – she wasn’t over-the-top nor did she act like a drama queen.
Once Krissy actually accepted the job and began working at Mirage Talent, well that’s when things between her and DeVon really get interesting. There is a ton of sexual chemistry between the two, but as Krissy refuses to entertain the idea of sleeping with the boss and DeVon refuses to pursue her, that chemistry is turning into some serious sexual tension. I am soooooo looking forward to THAT scene when it occurs. Here’s to hoping that volume two is just as entertaining as Chasing Perfection Vol. I was.
