AM Johnson reached out to me to review her first novel and I was more than happy to. I love getting the word of new or unknown authors out there. They deserve every opportunity to be noticed.

This story is about overcoming loss, dealing with demons and finding your true match in life. Sawyer and Elizabeth meet and it's insta-love. Elizabeth is somewhat forbidden because of her relationship with Sawyer's roommate but they can't keep themselves away from eachother.

"I don't do regret, Sawyer. Life is too damn short. I sure as hell don't want to be anyone's regret."

Thirteen years after the death of her parents, Elizabeth is still dealing with the horror of what she witnessed that day and ways to overcome and help others in similar situations. Sawyer has his own issues he's dealing with as well, being a retired Navy SEAL and recovering from a horrible childhood and adolescence. Elizabeth and Sawyer's strong connection will heal their wounds, but not without some major bumps in the road.

"I'm scared to death. I know I've only known you for a short time, but you bring feelings out that I've never experienced."

I really did enjoy this book. After reading a few others with the hero being a Navy SEAL, I was kind of turned off but A.M. Johnson made Sawyer's story unique and truly loveable. You just want to hug him, and stare at him. Elizabeth is the type of girl that I could be best friends with, pretty, smart, sarcastic and most of all, strong. I really loved the ending of the book but would have liked maybe a few more chapters of their life together since it all kind of came to fruition very fast at the end. A.M. Johnson will also be releasing book 2 in this series, Still Water which surrounds Todd (Elizabeth's best friend) and his quest for happiness.

Still Life is the first in the Forever Still series by A.M. Johnson. I enjoyed this book, and I am sure it will be the first successful book of many by this new author.

Elizabeth Haddington knows tragedy and loss and starting her life over. She has grown strong and is moving on with her life. She meets Sawyer Bryant, an ex-Navy SEAL, and a man who has a past which has caused significant damage to him. After Sawyer sees Elizabeth singing in her car at a set of traffic lights he is mesmerized and needs to know this woman. They meet again and the connection is there for the two of them.

There is pain and heartache and lots of issues to overcome, and the two of them work together to pull themselves to a place where perhaps they can be happy.

I really enjoyed this book and rate it a well-deserved five stars. I am looking forward to reading more in this series of books and I can thoroughly recommend this read.
AHHH AM Johnson is quickly creeping her way to the top of my MUST read list. I have loved everything I've read by this author, but going back in her back list- I had no idea what to expect.
But she blew me away. I could not put this book down- it was the can't eat, can't sleep kind of hooked, and I loved every minute of it. The story was full of beautiful messages and a plot that kept me on my toes with anticipation.
I felt like I was Elizabeth. I related to her character, not in terms of loss but in feelings. And I fell in love with Sawyer right a long with Elizabeth. Sawyer is a dream- yeah he has some issues, some flaws- but who doesn't, and outside of those- he is wonderful. SWOON-WORTHY for sure. And Cam and Todd. OMG- I love their posse and I cannot wait to see what is in story for them.
I just have no idea what I was waiting for to start this series. Still Life brings us to the world of best friends Elizabeth, Todd, Cam and Todd's roommate Sawyer. Immediately after reading the first page, I knew, I knew I was going to love this book fiercely, and I was not wrong.
At the age of 10, Elizabeth Haddington already has gone through more that anyone could ever endure; and after 13 years of healing she is still trying to put the pieces back together. Her determination towards a better future in her life will have you rooting for her at every turn of the page.
Sawyer Bryant is no stranger to heartache; he has survived a traumatic childhood and now as a former NAVY SEAL (talk about hotness at its best) he carries within his heart major battle scars that can't seem to heal.
A chance encounter brings these two souls together, but is not until a formal introduction that their paths collide into one. There is an instant connection that neither can deny; with the help and constant support from each other they embark in a journey of self healing. It is rewarding to see how the main characters grow as the story develops.
This story deals with heavy subjects such as abuse, violence, and war repercussions that sometimes encountering within a story can be difficult; however, A. M. Johnson does a marvelous job guiding her characters and the readers through it all.
A. M. Johnson brings friendship, family, love, loss, and pain together in a beautiful and emotional story with beautiful characters; I can't wait to dive into book two of the series. 5 Fantastic stars!!! Highly recommend to the avid reader.
